was a Legend Cat TM from a barn in Oregon (...) She and her sister
Brita were rescued from a man who said that Ol' Stumpy came off the
hill every year and bred his females... He threw the kittens into
the river every summer because they attacked his chickens, etc.. When
we hear about this, through a friend, Bernida and I decided to get
down there and see if only the two girls left. They and their mother.
Buffy was heavily spotted and was certainly not a Bengal, as she was
in a very remote farm in the middle of nowhere... The man was very
uneducated, asked for no money and was thankful to have the last removed
from his barn. Just because she has spots and a long tail doesn't
means she was anything. She was a mutt... to anyone else, but to me,
she was a genetic goldmine... She had tiny black spots on the bottoms
of her domestic white feet! She was most amazing.(...)you can see
that she had a very nice nose leather but otherwise, seemed to be
a normal looking cat, other than her greatly buckshot spotted coat
including the spots on her white feet. She was what I called a "Sleeper
Legend Cat TM". No one would have ever known of her fantastic
ability to produce, were it not for the farmer who saw the bobcat
"Ol' Stumpy" come down off the mountain every year to breed
his female barn cats! ." Carol Ann Brewer, January 2003
